What is the Wildlife Protection Act, why does the Kerala government want to change the law?

The Wildlife Protection Act was passed in the year 1972. That is why it is also called Wild Life Protection Act, 1972. Through this law, not only wild animals but also different species of plants are protected.
After the continuous incidents of animals causing harm to humans in the Kerala state.
Kerala request has been made to the Central Government that due to such incidents, many people have lost their lives and a lot of property is also being damaged. Therefore there is a need for change in the law.
There is a provision in the Wildlife Protection Act that if a person attacks any wildlife, he can be sentenced to a minimum of three years and a maximum of seven years in jail
Two lakh rupees fine for hunting in tiger reserve
There is also a provision in the Wildlife Protection Act 1972 that if any vehicle, weapon or other equipment is involved in a crime against wildlife, then they will be confiscated by the government.
Since 2011 till now, 1233 people have lost their lives in attacks by wild animals in Kerala.
