 List of deadliest mountains in the world: There are many adventures one loves, but climbing a mountain is another level. This article informs about the most dangerous or, to say, deadliest mountains in the world.

 Mount Everest –  As per several reports, 2023 is considered to have the worst deaths recorded in a season at Mt Everest. An average of about 4.4 fatalities happen every year.

Five most deadliest mountains to climb:

Annapurna – Annapurna is considered the deadliest mountain to climb in the world. This has a fatality rate of over 30 per cent (32 deaths per 100 successful summits).

(ii) K2 – The world’s second-most highest mountain, K2, is also not an accessible mountain to climb and is known as ‘Savage Mountain’. It is one of the most dangerous mountains in the world. This has a fatality rate of over 20 per cent (23 deaths per 100 successful summits).

(iii) Nanga Parbat  – Nanga Parbat is famously known as the ‘Killer Mountain’. Constant weather change, avalanches, steep and challenging terrain, and the infamous Diamir Face have made it known as ‘Killer Mountain’. The fatality rate here is 21 per cent (21 deaths per 100 successful summits).

(iv) Dhaulagiri- Dhaulagiri is known for steep icefalls, challenging technical sections and unpredictable weather. The fatality rate here is 16 per cent (16 deaths per 100 successful summits).

(v) Kangchenjunga- The world’s third-highest mountain has a fatality rate here of over 15 per cent (15 deaths per 100 successful summits).
