Largest salt lake in India, the Sambhar Lake. Situated in Rajasthan's Jaipur district

The Sambhar Lake is the primary source of salt production in the state

It produces around 0.66 per cent of the country's salt production, with around 1,96,000 tonnes of fresh salt every year.

The lake is fed by six mother rivers, including Khandela, Rupangarh, Medtha, Khari, Mantha and Samod.

With a length of 35.5 Km and a breadth ranging between three km and 11 km, depending on the flow of water, the lake forms an elliptical shape.
